Ever get to the end of an incredibly busy day and wonder what you actually accomplished?

You've answered messages, made phone calls, checked tasks off lists, and barely stopped moving. But when you look back, it's hard to pinpoint what actually moved the needle.

And somehow, you still have a hundred things on your mind.

Maybe you're building a business, navigating a demanding career, raising a family, pursuing a creative idea, or simply trying to be a good steward of everything God's put in your care.

You've got responsibilities, goals, and a vision. But with so many things competing for your attention, it's easy to lose sight of what matters most today.

And amid all the noise, the bigger questions start creeping in:

Am I spending my time on the right things?

Is this what God wants me to be pursuing?

Am I actually making progress, or just staying busy?

I've been there.

As much as a new planner, fresh highlighters, and bright sticky notes bring me joy, I've learned that peace and clarity aren't hiding in the office-supply aisle or Instagram productivity hacks.

What helps me keep my days meaningfully on track is profoundly simple:

Giving God the first word.

Not a news reporter. Not an influencer. And certainly not that client who sends emails at 2 AM.

When I start my mornings in Scripture and prayer, I'm reminded that my time, work, relationships, and opportunities ultimately belong to him. I can bring him my plans and concerns, ask him to redirect my attention where it's needed, and trust him with what I can't control.

Throughout the day, I’m more likely to check in with him—ask for wisdom, remember whose glory I'm working for, and focus on my next faithful step.

That doesn't mean every day goes according to plan or that I start crushing goals at record speed. But my focus is noticeably sharper. I feel more anchored in the peace and presence of God and accountable to my Boss, who calls me to be a good steward of the time and resources he's entrusted to me.

That's why I created Steadfast Mornings.

It's a five-day guided prayer routine, anchored in Scripture. It’s designed to help you build the habit of intentional, unhurried conversations with God before the demands of the world get the first word.

Not so you can squeeze more productivity out of every minute.

But so you can grow closer to God, find rest in his presence, and move through your days with a clearer mind, a steadier heart, and a renewed desire to honor him.

Five guided weekday mornings. Two weekend bonus practices. One week of putting God first.

Why the Emphasis on Prayer?

I love that God’s available for a conversation while we’re on the move, whether we’re sitting in traffic or sitting in a pew. A little praise here, a small request there. A quick ask for forgiveness when we lose our cool with someone.

But your relationship with your spouse wouldn't flourish if you only ever sent quick texts while rushing between appointments. Your relationship with God is no different.

Intimacy is cultivated when you make time to give God your undivided attention, and intentionally get to know him—not just by reading about him, but by conversing with him!

Yet prayer doesn't always come naturally.

Sometimes we approach it as a box to check, struggle to find the words, get distracted, or simply don't know where to begin.

The guided prayers in Steadfast Mornings are meant to help you get a focused conversation going. You can use my words when they're helpful, but I encourage you to make them your own.

You’ll find fill-in-the-blank opportunities to bring your real questions, struggles, hopes, and gratitude before God. And because prayer is meant to be a dialogue, you’ll also find a weekend exercise designed to help you slow down and listen.

I pray you’ll experience, as I have, that starting your day in unhurried conversation with God is one of the best things you can do for yourself, your family, and whatever work he's put before you.

This Guide Is for You If...

  • You want to build intimacy with God.
  • You want to cultivate a deeper, more consistent prayer life.
  • You make time for reading Scripture but tend to rush through prayer.
  • You struggle to find the words or would appreciate some guidance.
  • You often feel pulled in too many directions and want to feel more grounded throughout the day.
  • You want to bring your work, relationships, decisions, and ambitions before God.
  • You want help putting what you're learning from Scripture and prayer into practice.

A Note From Me

Leaving my structured government job to become a solopreneur was an adjustment for me.

When I struggled to manage myself, I tried time-blocking, mindset routines, and fancy goal-setting planners.

But I found nothing helps me approach my days with clarity and determination quite like a morning check-in with the Boss.

At a conference I attended, Hobby Lobby founder David Green reminded us: “God owns the business.”

Whether that's your LLC, your household, or something else entirely, we're ultimately the managers of what God has delegated to us.

Time. Talents. Resources. Relationships. Instagram followers. And the good news of Jesus.

Our time with God isn't just another meeting to squeeze into a busy morning. It's an opportunity to connect with our Creator, remember what’s true, and seek his guidance for the day ahead.

That's the heart behind Steadfast Mornings.

Not frantic movement. Not accomplishing everything on today's punch list.

But abiding in Christ, listening well, and putting one foot in front of the other.
